Principal’s Message

Welcome to Bambara Primary School – where collaboration, excellence, and lifelong learning are at the heart of everything we do.

At Bambara Primary School, we are proud to be a vibrant and inclusive learning community. Our dedicated staff, engaged families, and supportive wider community work together to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to achieve their personal best.

We are committed to developing not just strong learners, but confident, curious, and compassionate individuals. Through high expectations and a strong sense of belonging, we help students build the skills, mindset, and values they need to thrive—at school and in life.

Our inclusive culture is underpinned by our whole-school Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework: Be Respectful, Be Safe, Be Your Best. These values guide our daily interactions and shape a positive, respectful school culture where everyone can succeed.

We recognise that strong partnerships with families and the broader community are essential to student success. Working closely with our School Board, P&C Association, and local organisations, we ensure our school remains a welcoming, responsive, and future-focused place for all.

Teaching and learning at Bambara are grounded in the Western Australian Curriculum and informed by the latest evidence, including the Science of Reading and best practices in mathematics instruction. From Kindergarten through to Year 6, our programs are designed to build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a genuine love of learning.

Our approach to English and Mathematics is explicit, structured, and student-centred. With programs such as PLD, Sound Waves, Oxford Maths, and Talk for Writing, our teachers deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support every student’s growth and confidence. In the early years, we nurture curiosity through play-based, hands-on learning. In the upper years, we extend students through real-world challenges and deeper learning opportunities.

At Bambara, we are a learning community in every sense. We continuously reflect on our practices, use data to inform decisions, and strive for continuous improvement—ensuring every student has the opportunity to shine.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school. I warmly invite you to connect with us, visit our classrooms, and discover the vibrant learning taking place at Bambara Primary School.

Warm regards,

Paula Bell Principal
