Bambara Primary is an accredited Crunch and Sip school and is aligned to the Department of Education Healthy Food Policy. Crunch and Sip promotes the eating of healthy snacks and encourages students to eat raw vegetables and fruit during designated classroom brain breaks.
In addition to Crunch and Sip, a daily morning snack and packed lunch should be packed to ensure students are physically and mentally alert for learning.
The school encourages students to eat snacks and lunch that are free of high sugar, salt and fats. Processed and packaged foods should be kept to a minimum.
Students are discouraged from bringing food products that contain strawberries and nuts due to a number of students with severe food allergies.
