Beyond the Classroom

Our Opportunities

Co-curricular Activities

The Year 6 students’ three-day camp aims to build team spirit. The camp provides students with many fun yet challenging activities supervised by fully trained camp staff and Bambara Primary School teaching staff. Students learn to work in teams relying on their cooperative and collaborative skills to meet the challenges presented. Activities include Abseiling, Lost Pilot, Big Swing, Canoeing, Caving and Flying Fox just to mention a few.

Kitchen Garden

The Kitchen Garden Club welcomes all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. It is run by staff and volunteer parents where participants are engaged in planting, maintaining garden beds, harvesting, preparing, sharing and selling garden produce. The club meets weekly.

Pool and Beach Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons take place each year for Pre Primary to Year 4 students. The lessons are conducted by fully qualified Education Department personnel at the Craigie Leisure Centre The cost for these lessons includes pool entry, lesson and transport to the swimming pool. Beach Swimming lessons are held at Mullaloo Beach each year for Year 5 and 6 students only. Students learn to swim in open water and learn about conditions such as wave action, tides, rips, and wind which impact on swimming conditions.

Sporting Schools Program

The Sporting Schools program is provided by the Department of Sport and Recreation and is funded to run before and after school sport programs each term. The program provides students with the opportunity to learn new skills, socialise with older and younger students and build their self-confidence. Sessions are delivered by trained coaches from various sporting codes. For many students it provides them with an opportunity to learn about club sports and the benefits that participation would bring.

Year 6 students have the opportunity to participate in a week long Surfing program at Trigg beach presented by Surfing WA. Participation is optional.

Running Club

Running Club is a before-school activity that students and their families can do together! Activities include:
• Circuit Training
• Endurance Training (Laps)
• Cross Country
• Interval Training
The more involvement and commitment we get from families the better our club will be. Everyone is welcome including; students, parents/guardians, siblings and grandparents. Volunteers willing to help out with the morning events will be greatly appreciated.
