Values Program

Values Tree
At Bambara Primary School we are committed to the development of a school community based on positive Values. These are the behaviours that influence our whole lives. They shape our thoughts, feelings and actions. We believe that the development of a values system is a complex, ongoing process and that the formative stages occur in our lives through the influence of home, family, school, community and world issues.
We believe that our students can optimise their learning in a positive, caring and safe Learning Environment. We believe that fostering sound communication and partnership processes with our school community is important in developing a supportive Learning Environment for our students. We believe that our students, teachers and parents deserve recognition for the effort that they make for our school.
Each fortnight we have a Values focus which is discussed at the Monday Assembly. Students who display the particular Value are recognised at our Monday Assemblies where they receive a Values Award and pencil. Parents are welcome to attend these assemblies held in the Undercover Area.
Our Front Office also houses a Values Tree where students who are recognised have their name and the Value written on a leaf. This is then placed on the tree for the rest of the term. Award winners also have their photos in the newsletter. The focus on Values and their importance has a positive impact on behaviour within the school community and aids our school in maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere.
At the beginning of each term, each family receives a copy of the Values Booklet which outlines the Values theme for each fortnight.
